J&M Diner has been operating inside Hotel Corner Brook for several years now. They’re best known for their fish & chips, but have daily specials, and offer unique meals on and around holidays (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, etc.)

The restaurant is truly a family business, as the owners and operators are a mother-son team (Jamie & Mom). And what a great team they are! They already have a lot of experience working in restaurants, especially together, so they knew that starting this business together was going to be a good fit.

They each play to their strengths; Jamie is the main chef and prepares most of the food, while Gladys is primarily the server. Sometimes on busier days, Gladys’ other children come in and help out as well.

No matter when you stop by, you can expect a great meal and a friendly chat from these two restaurateurs.

J&M Diner hosts private events, and have catered several weddings in tandem with our bar, the Seaport Lounge.


The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday,

8:30am – 2:00pm for breakfast and lunch,

5:00pm – 8:00pm for supper.

On Sundays, we are open 8:30am – 11:00am
